What We Do

The Soul Healing Way Programs

Healing the Child Within

with Helen Klonaris

This is a series of four 3-day retreats over the course of a year that focuses on repairing our journey through childhood from the womb to individuation from our families. Science shows us that our daily behaviors and patterns are controlled by our unconscious programming – and so much of that programming is created in our earliest childhood years. Whatever traumas and deprivations we survived can still hold us back from living our best lives. By applying gentle shamanic practices to re-imagine our past, we can liberate ourselves from old programming and create new ways of living and relating to the world.

February | May | August | November 2025

Exact dates, times, and tuition fees to be announced.

Walking the Spiral Path

with Helen Klonaris

Walking the Spiral Path is a new program dedicated to healing personal, intergenerational and historical trauma. Over the course of 9 weekend intensives, we will apply shamanic wisdom and techniques to personal, familial and historical wounds. We will use narrative therapy to explore the stories our wounds have created. How do they limit us and our dreams? How might we transform them and invite new stories? How might we liberate ourselves and, importantly, use our freedom to support collective social liberation and change?

Part One: February 28-March 2, 2025 | March 28-30, 2025 | April 25-27, 2025

Part Two: August 22-24, 2025 | September 19-21, 2025 | October 24-26, 2025 ||

Part Three: February 2026 | March 2026 | April 2026

Cost: $450 per intensive or $1200 per term.

Helen is a writer, educator, spiritual counselor and healing practitioner. Her healing practice is rooted in the understanding that trauma separates us from our Soul, and it is this ‘soul loss’ that creates depression, chronic addictions, dysfunctional patterns, and other forms of emotional and physical dis-ease. By working to reintegrate the lost parts of our soul, we can find health, balance, and joy in our everyday lives. She is the founder and director of the Soul Healing Way and the co-keeper of Sacred Islands Sanctuary, an earth-centered space for the celebration of the sacred in all life.

Sacred Bush Walks

Bone Fish Pond Walk

with Michael Stevenson

A guided walk into Bone Fish Pond – a nature preserve in southern New Providence, Bahamas.

We begin with a guided meditation. And, in a spirit of contemplation and connection with nature and ourselves, we walk through mangrove and over small islands, across shallow waters and onto a beautiful beach. Our guide Michael, who listens to the mangroves and the clouds that pass over them, is an expert bush walker, blue hole hunter, and kayaker. Snacks and a light lunch will be provided.

Next Sacred Bush Walk – October, 2024. Contact us for more information.

Michael is a professor at the University of the Bahamas in the School of Social Sciences. He loves sailing, kayaking, playing the piano, and is presently working on a novel. He is co-keeper of Sacred Islands Sanctuary, an earth-centered space for the celebration of the sacred in all life.

Mindfulness Meditation Practice

Mindfulness Meditation

with Margot Bethel

“Mindfulness can strengthen our attention, awaken compassion and empathy, and expand acceptance of our own inner states” – Tara Brach, PhD

What is mindfulness? How can we use the breath and other anchors to focus the mind? How do we learn to become more aware of the impact of our thoughts and emotions, and find self-compassion and forgiveness in the midst of difficult experiences? And, how does the practice of meditation help us address the suffering in our lives and in the wider world?

In classes and gatherings, Margot guides practitioners on a journey to find their own ‘anchors’ and to use meditation as a practical tool to navigate our everyday challenges.

New classes beginning in 2025.

Margot is an artist, a seeker, a mindfulness meditation practitioner, and student of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach of Spirit Rock Insight Meditation Centre in California.
